The CWP Story
The CWP story began in 1993, when Jerry Foley established CWP — Carpentry With Perfection. More than three decades later, those founding principles of craftsmanship, integrity, and personal commitment remain at the heart of CWP Construction LLC, a Virginia Class A General Contracting company.
Today, CWP is a family-owned, two-generation company specializing in Design-Build, Historic Restoration, Commercial & Residential Construction, Accessible Design, and Complex Projects throughout Northern and Western Virginia.
We are old-school in many ways. We believe in knowing our clients, being present on our jobs, and taking responsibility for the details. You may still find us sketching an idea by hand or walking a project with a handwritten punch list. We embrace modern technology where it makes sense, but we haven't lost the personal, hands-on way of doing business that CWP was built on.
Family is at the foundation of CWP. It shapes how we work, how we treat people, and how we think about the spaces we create. We believe in thoughtful, accessible design that can adapt to changing needs and serve families, businesses, and communities well for generations.
We also have a genuine appreciation for what came before us. Historic buildings, old-growth materials, traditional craftsmanship, and even classic vehicles remind us that things built with care are worth preserving. Whenever possible, we look for thoughtful ways to restore, reuse, adapt, and improve rather than simply replace—respecting both the history of a structure and the environment around it.
For us, good construction isn't only about what works today. It's about respecting the past, building responsibly for the present, and considering the generations that will follow.
